CULTURAL GUARDIANS — STUDY VISIT 2025
As part of the Cultural Guardians program, a group of Ukrainian museum and heritage professionals took part in a pilot study visit acrossPoland and Germany in September 2025. Participants explored how museums, archives, and heritage institutions in both countries work with collections, accessibility, inclusion, and the preservation of cultural heritage in times of change. The itinerary included visits to institutions in Warsaw, Łódź, Frankfurt (Oder), Neuzelle, Berlin, and Branitz, offering a broad view of museum practices — from large national institutions to local memorial sites. Workshops and meetings focused on topics such as digital collection management, inclusive programming, monument conservation, and the role of museums in post-conflict recovery. Ukrainian participants also shared their own experiences of protecting culture during the ongoing war, contributing valuable perspectives on resilience and innovation.

The study visit marked an important step in building a Ukrainian–Polish–German network of cultural professionals and laid the foundation for future cooperation, training, and exchange within the Cultural Guardians program.
