IVAN TRUSH ART AND MEMORIAL MUSEUM IN LVIV
Ivan Trush Art and Memorial Museum, Lviv Ivan Trush (1869-1941) was an outstanding Ukrainian artist, art critic, editor, cultural and public figure. A museum was established in the artist's former villa in 1989. I. Trush's house is located on a cozy and picturesque street that today honors the artist's name. The two-story building was commissioned by the artist and designed by the famous Ukrainian architect Oleksandr Lushpynskyi (1910) in the late Secession style. He lived here with his family until his death (1910-1941). In 1986, the artist's descendants bequeathed the house to the Ukrainian people to create a museum in it.
In 1989, on the 120th anniversary of the artist's birth, the Ivan Trush Art and Memorial Museum hospitably opened its doors to visitors. Its exposition presents the main pages of the painter's life and work, and presents him as a prominent Ukrainian impressionist, master of landscape, portraitist, and author of genre compositions.
