IZYUM MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY AFTER M.V. SIBILIOV
The Izium Local Lore Museum is one of the oldest museums of its kind in the Slobozhanshchyna region. Founded in 1920 by the renowned local historian and archaeologist M.V. Sibilov, after whom the museum is named. The museum's unique collection, with its main fund numbering around 14,000 exhibits, reveals the history of Izium's region from ancient times to the present day. During World War II, a part of the museum's collection was irretrievably lost, and the museum building was destroyed. However, the museum staff managed to save the most valuable exhibits, which subsequently became the basis for a new museum collection.
