HISTORICAL AND LOCAL HISTORY DEPARTMENT OF THE YAMPIL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
The museum building is one of the few that survived the Second World War. There is a basement under the building, which is still unexplored. Previously, the KGB committed its crimes within these walls, and in the basements, as it is known, prisoners were held in shackles. Inn the region of Yampil, there are 119 archaeological sites - mounds and settlements of different cultures, many of which have been studied. Many artifacts are saved in the museum's collections and are constantly updated. Until June 28, 2023, the building was closed first due to Covid, and then due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. Since the end of June, the "memory Gallery" has been open, as well as "Svetlitsa", a place for various workshops.
