PRYKARPATTIA ART MUSEUM, IVANO-FRANKIVSK REGIONAL ART MUSEUM
The Carpathian Art Museum is a regional art museum in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk; treasury of sacred, fine and decorative art of the region. The museum has one of the best collections of Galician sacred art, including the works of the outstanding Baroque sculptor Johann Georg Pinzel. Museum has been housed since 1980 in the premises of the former Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, Saints Andrew and Stanislav, which is an architectural monument of national importance. The construction of the temple was started in the early 1670s at the expense of the then owner of the city, the Polish magnate Andriy Potocki.
