LOCAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF THE NOVOIDARI VILLAGE COUNCIL
The Novoaidar Museum of Local History was opened in 1979 in the village of Novoaidar, Luhansk region (since 2022 it is a temporarily occupied territory). During its existence, the museum has collected many valuable artefacts and documents related to the history of the Novoaidar region. The museum's exposition covers different periods of the region's history, including collections of paleontological finds, archaeological finds, ethnographic items, as well as materials related to the interwar and modern periods. The pride of the museum is the collection "Folk costumes of the Novoaidar region in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries", which has been collected over 20 years. The collection is unique in its authenticity and belongs only to the inhabitants of the different villages of the Novoaidar district. The collection fully reflects the diverse ethnic composition of the population of Novoaidar district: it includes the costumes of the Ukrainian and Russian peoples, Zaporizhian and Don Cossacks, as well as ethnic Ukrainians - Lemkos, who were forcibly resettled from Poland and have been living in Novoaidar district for more than 70 years. The evacuated collection is currently stored in Lviv.
