KHERSON REGIONAL ART MUSEUM NAMED AFTER OLEKSIY SHOVKUNENKO
An art museum in the city of Kherson, named in honor of the Ukrainian artist Oleksiy Oleksiyovych Shovkunenko. It is located in the former building of the city hall, an architectural landmark of the early 20th century. The museum's collection included more than 13,000 works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. Works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative art are presented here, starting with examples of Russian icon painting of the 17th century and ending with the works of modern Kherson artists.
